Geese
Police of VA has been providing quality goose control since 1999.
It is our mission to provide the best service to our clients with
environmentally safe Canada goose control using working Border Collies
and other special techniques.
We
believe the best way to achieve this goal is to use hand-picked
working Border Collies that are highly trained to control the Canada
geese on our clients' properties. Border Collies have a unique
stalk (see above) as well as a wolf-like glance called the "eye".
Because of this, Canada geese count our dogs as predators (even
though we never touch them) and will soon find someplace else to
loiter.
Our
techniques are approved by USDA Wildlife Service and US Fish and
Wildlife. In addition, the Humane Society and PETA (People for the
Ethical Treatment of Animals) recommend the use of working Border
Collies for Canada goose control.
Because
many new sites that we start have domestic (flightless), sick or
injured birds already there, Geese Police of VA will take care of
removing and transporting these birds to a rehabilitator, veterinarian
or bird sanctuary. We can assist you in filing for addling
permits so that we can be sub-permitted to treat the nests of the
Canada geese.
Our
handlers are specially trained to work and properly control the
dogs using special techniques developed by Geese Police Inc.
In addition, our handlers are educated on the behavior of the Canada
geese and their migratory, nesting and breeding habits.
With
this training they are also able to educate the public ensuring
the most successful goose control program available.
We
constantly stay abreast of the latest developments in the migration
and the problems Canada geese cause to the health of humans and
the environment.
Our
customer base includes corporate centers, schools, universities,
municipalities (state, county & local), parks, playgrounds,
golf courses, cemeteries, and residential communities, just to name
a few.
